Platelet-rich Plasma or Intermittent pneumatic compression therapy
In the last 35 or so years I haven't used any of the so-called Neuropathy treatments/cures. There is so much fraud.
I was wondering if anyone has used either of these treatments, and if they had any beneficialeffect. I’m just curious since I only have numbness now and I can live with that.
Thanks,
Jake

I tried both and nothing came of them. I also tried stem cells several years before and basically donated $10,000 to a good con artist doctor who is still in business. Yes, there are fakes all around us. Treatments, meds, creams, light therapy.....I could keep going. I will soon start acupuncture. What the heck!!!
@julkun, this is always my fear when new(er) therapies seem to be too good to be true. They usually are.
There is a great deal of hope and a great deal of hype about stem cell treatment. That is why Mayo Clinic offers a free consult service. When you call the consult service, they will tell you about the availability of approved stem cell therapy at Mayo Clinic and elsewhere, and for what conditions. They can also tell you about research studies that are actively recruiting participants. Furthermore, you can add your name to a database to be notified when additional studies and information become available. You can learn more about the Consult Service here http://www.mayo.edu/research/centers-programs/center-regenerative-medicine/patient-care/clinical-services/regenerative-medicine-consult-service.

I tried prp twice with no discernable results. Am looking into radio frequency ablation therapy this week. Johnmacc
Has anyone tried PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) injections for Neuropathy
I have tried a few injections, but not sure yet if it's working.
I am going to try to get the injections once a week for a while to see if it works
Where do you have the PRP injected to benefit your neuropathy? I have PRP for tendon and ligament tears but have not tried it for neuropathy.
The PRP is injected back into the arm. Not sure yet if it's working . I thought I would give it a few more tries then
decide if it's worth it. My doctor is trying it as experimental right now.
Is your PRP covered by insurance?
No. It is not covered by insurance. Since it is experimental, my doctor charges what an office call would cost.
I have had 3 sets of PRP injections in my feet . My pain is less than half of what it was . My feet are no longer cold . I have more feeling and better color . I have also had a PRP injection in my right shoulder . The pain has gotten so much better . PRP works . Does it work for all people ? Who knows ?
No PRP injections are not covered by insurance . It costs me $400.00 per set of injections .
