Cold laser therapy
Anyone had success with this? My chiro has a $50,000. Cold laser machine. No help yet but research is interesting.

Yes, I have, worked great. Will answer better tonight.
Hello @opai,
I combined your discussion with a similar discussion titled "Cold laser therapy" - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/cold-laser-therapy/ so you could meet some of the other members who have tried this therapy. Even though this discussion is in the neuropathy group, members like @jdiakiw and @mfullbri may be able to share if the laser therapy was beneficial to them.
@opai, if you don't mind sharing, has your son had his ankle/foot pain diagnosed?
They checked for lupus he seen a Rheumatologist and foot doctor no diagnosis thanks for your in put he has just started cold laxer therapy has had 3 sessions pray it will help
Thanks he is on his 3rd session pray it works!!
Hi @opai - definitely in my prayers your son has some relief from the cold laser therapy. I was diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy in both feet in August 2023. On a journey to figure out how to effectively live with the disease. One step I took in 2023 was to receive cold laser therapy and electrical stimulation of both feet two times a week for nine weeks. Believe it did help but not dramatic enough to continue with the treatment. Not covered by Medicare and very expensive. Would definitely continue the treatment if more affordable and dramatic, long lasting improvement. Again, prayers for you and your son.
Thank you for information he has had 3 sessions hoping it will give some relief i no it will take awhile to see results
Hi @opai
I am sorry for the delay, long week. I have had cold laser treatment twice, for neuropathy, each treatment 3x weer x 4. I thought it worked subtly, not like taking a pain medication. My neuropathy has issues when my allergies are intense and is a wee bit overwhelmed... So, I work on bringing the intensity back to a tolerable level. The last time I used a shock wave treatment and had almost instant relief.
I do eat a diet low in sugar, exercise, attempt yoga besides the ''Happy Feet' yoga, and massage my feet every night, with cerave. My goal is to get as much blood flowing to my feet to create a happy, inflammation free environment for the nerves in my feet.
The cold laser is mentioned in an article that @johnbishop posted in what's new in 2024. A company has developed a boot like application, I would love to try it.
I have found that the cold laser therapy helps. It can be expensive, for me $150 a session 2x a week for the first month. I am down to one treatment a week and still see improvements.
I also find the exercises they have given me super helpful. Spelling the alphabet with my ankles as many times as I can in a day. Also rolling my foot on a golf ball, and wearing toe separators.
