Ive been trying to wean myself off HRT but at 65 every time I try I get terrible sweating, feel hot, can’t sleep. Not sure what to do about it,some doctors want me completely off , my gynecologist says low dose ok.

The way my doctor explained it, is that locally applied Estradiol to the vagina has a different impact on the body than oral HRT. That was my understanding and it suppoted the videos I had seen by female urologists online. My readings seemed to indicate that the locally applied estrogen may not be enough to address symptoms like hot flashes. I’m interested in oral HRT and will explore it further. Based on what some of these urologists and gynecologists are saying about pelvic atrophy, I want to be proactive.

I think a low dose is the right decision, especially if you've tried weaning. And, I'm saying a very low dose. OR, can us just stay on a low dose of Premarin vaginal Cream? I don't know

@barscr2 I’ve recently started low dose at 68. I think the research has shown that denying get to our generation was not necessary.
My concern is more for osteoarthritis but I’m finding it to seriously improve aging skin. And now I’m realizing the psoriasis I’ve had for a while is improving dramatically.
