Evenity and heart
Has anyone had a fast or irregular heart beat after Evenity? I am going to have the injection tomorrow. Recently both COVID and Paxlovid caused rapid and irregular heart beat so I am feeling vulnerable. Thanks!

Got it. Glad you are able to continue with Evenity.
I am presently taking Fosimax. Not sure how long I will continue to take it. Unfortunately I had no improvement (gains) with taking 5 months of Evenity. But I wasn't surprised at all, I am very unusual ( rare) that have taken 4 other medications with no improvements in my DEXA numbers. I will continue to walk everyday, practice yoga, take my supplements, eat healthy and be hopeful that I will continue not to have a fall or compression fracture. I wish everyone on this site better success than I had. We all need to support each other and be hopeful.
@windyshores Could Fosamax be used to lock in your gains? You would of course have to take it much longer than the one-time Reclast Infusion, but it might be safer for your heart to take the oral bisphosphonate. Has your doctor ever suggested that path?
I have bad Gerd @8fish and could not tolerate Foasamaz. I am doing a low dose of Reclast but more frequently. If I cannot do that, especially if my kidneys react, I will try Actonel. Thank you!
windyshores,
When do you start Reclast?
No more Evenity? I know that you have posted about this. It just seems as if it’s happened so fast.
@susanfalcon52 I have one more provider to meet with. Right now I am inclined to risk another set of Evenity injections. I had hope to do at least 3 because that is when the most bone growth happens. Then Reclast.
My side effect of abdominal pressure has eased, It was worst for 4 days after the shots and has gradually diminished. Allergist gave me some helpful advice: thigh shots, not tummy, pause between shots, stay in office 15+ minutes and hydrate too.
HI! My doctor said there was no low dose of Reclast infusion: So I am wondering how your dose was adjusted.
From https://www.pdr.net/drug-information/?drug=reclast
Obviously, we are over 1 7 but there is more than one dosage available.
"Children and Adolescents 3 to 17 years
5 mg IV once yearly, or alternatively, 0.05 to 0.1 mg/kg/dose IV once every 6 months or 0.05 mg/kg/dose IV once daily for 2 consecutive days every 4 months."
windyshores,
Perhaps the second and third doses will be easier. The only reaction I have had was to first shots.
They just give 1 mg instead of 5. Not sure why your doctor said that. It is not common though. I am getting lower dose only because of kidney issues.
