I am waiting for the availability of new monoclonal antibody treatments because I can’t safely take the vaccines. I have spoken to people at both AstraZeneca and Regeneron regarding their treatments. Both have new or modified monoclonal antibodies in ongoing trials. Once the trials are successfully completed they have to go through the approval process. My local, television, medical news reporter told me that now that the pandemic is considered “over”, they are not currently fast tracking approval so the process could potentially take a very long time. That means that for those of us who desperately want or need these drugs, it could still be a very long wait.

@detc, Interesting...I can't take the vaccines either and have had 2 covid infections in the last 7 months with several residual illnesses, PMR/GCA/and others...I had 3 days of IV antiviral infusions that helped keep me out of the hospital this last time. I did have covid pneumonia and am just now getting over that but with microscopic poly analgesic autoimmune disease with kidney, skin, joint, and lung involvement. So, the monoclonal antibodies are an important possible treatment for me!

Hopefully, the wait won't be long!
Blessings, Elizabeth
