@debkincaid

I am in NM & asked my doctor & also a local physical therapist about Onero; neither had ever heard of it. With the rate of osteoporosis sky-rocketing, you’d really think physical therapists would get on-board.

I wish you had mentioned the ONLINE Onero program. I am considering joining that but can’t find any independent reviews on it. Do you have any info on it?

@debkincaid - I didn’t mention it cause I was not aware of it. Thanks for the info, I’ll certainly look into that. I am going to go to the Somerset clinic to have a consult and to observe the program , though that’s a 3 hour drive for me and therefore joining the program there is I’d say out of the question . But I’m very curious !!!! I think because this is so new it hasn’t hit yet. Probably only people that were looking at the Liftmor trials had, or have much of an idea about this, and don’t think there are many of those people out there either. Just my own thoughts/ opinion..

Yes I looked into the online Onero program. They have the regular one which uses light weights and is geared towards improving balance. They also have individualized programs but I talked to one of their staff in Australia and they only do dumbbells, not barbells for the individualized program, as they believe you MUST have supervision lifting the heavier barbells proven to improve BMD in the Liftmor trials. So out of luck. However, though expensive I am going to be working with a personal trainer to do the squat, deadlift and overhead press- the 3 exercises that are done in their clinic with barbells.

The problem with physicians and most therapists is that they don’t research and go to these kinds of conversations to up their own standards of practice. They are to satisfied with their practices. That is what I observed in my life time of dealing with both.
