Good afternoon, @cekkk Well, I am so glad you let me know about your cannabis history. Let's see what we can do to perhaps create more positive responses. Since I don't know the specifics of your presenting condition, I am going to share what works for me and why. Our presenting issues appear to be similar. Your presentation of the issues in your legs is very similar to mine. So that may be a good start.
As soon as I read about those stabbing pains I realized that we may be dealing with similar issues. May I ask.....have you had a diagnosis? Did you suffer injuries? Surgeries? Have you been diagnosed with any form of neuropathy including SFN (small fiber neuropathy)?
My adventure into the world of medical cannabis began 11 years ago in 2013 after my neurologist confirmed my SFN and began to discuss ways to control the symptoms. At that time, we had a very small dispensary in our village and the owner took me under his wing and taught me about medical cannabis. For example.....I learned that different strains yield different results. Sativa was too strong for me but Indica worked perfectly. One of his friends even grew marijuana in his backyard to make the topicals.
To this day I only use two forms of medical cannabis.....tinctures and topicals. No smoking or inhaling, no capsules......just liquids/balms that can give you a pretty immediate response.
In the morning, my wake-up and get-up choice is a 1:1 CBD/THC tincture. I may have a second dose in the afternoon if my leg(s) is giving me uncomfortable "stabbing" pains. Then for bedtime and a good night's sleep, I use a 2:1 CBD/THC tincture. The total dose for the 1:1 is 1/4 of a tincture dropper. The total dose for the 2:1 is 1/2 of a tincture dropper.
All of my products are directly from the marijuana plant.....no synthetics. As far as dosing, I suggest reading this article....https://projectcbd.org/what-is-cbd/cbd-dosage/. This is just about CBD and yet it is informative regarding dosing.
Current research indicates that THC has more to do with the control of pain than we may have thought. However, it needs to be balanced with CBD.
For topicals, I would suggest that you find the papaandbarkley.com site. Lots of information and options. My two MFR therapists both use the 1:3 CBD/THC balm because of the way it helps control the muscle fatigue from their "work".
So....take a look and let me know if you have additional questions or what I call "wonderments".
May you be free of suffering and the causes of suffering.
Chris
The lady at the dispensary talked me out of inhalable. I came home with a device that I twist the top and a tiny grain of rice sized drop of THC, I guess it is, comes up. Tastes terrible. So far it is not relieved the pain nor have I felt high. And if I understand correctly, that little drop is 10 times as strong as the chocolates I believe I mentioned earlier. Anyway, I will go back over your response and proceed from there. I will probably be asking you questions.
I meant to say that the neurologist has CT and EMG reports by now and I hope to get a diagnosis at the follow up visit 2/2/24
