Hello @tiredcat, I know it's scary for you as well as your boyfriend with the blood clots. I have been on blood thinners now for almost 4 months due to a blood clot in my right leg and one in my lungs. The results from my last ultrasound a few weeks ago show that it is still not completely gone and I expect to be on blood thinners for at least 3 more months and possibly longer. Doctors can sometimes have difficulty explaining what's going on so that we can understand it so it's always good to ask questions and learn as much as you can about the condition. You might find this information on navigating life after thrombosis (also called a blood clot) – including prevention, treatment, and life implications from The North American Thrombosis Forum (NATF) helpful for learning more - https://thrombosis.org/patients/thrombosis-tips/.

You mentioned that your boyfriend continues to be inactive. My doctors have told me that I need to stay active and have some regular exercise. Are you able to get him into a treatment program or is he already in one?
