IBS problems when going to bed
My 37 year old daughter has been diagnosed with IBS. She has done everything recommended by every specialist she has seen. She is now eating only a few different foods. Has anyone found anything that helps with cramping, gas & constipation during the night? Thank you everyone for any suggestions.

Look for vsl3 and that is a lowercase L
I take artichoke capsules that really help with constipation.
Susan, Good luck. I will keep an eye out for anything further from you. Note that I also use Heather's Peppermint Tea to good effect. It calms my gut and I buy it in bulk. I am glad you can tolerate meat better than I can. It has been hard for me to figure out what foods or habit are problems as the "reaction" from a trigger food takes about a day for my intestinal system. Wishing you the very best, Judy.
Can not post websites on here. It is real easy to find.
Use to be with a prescription you could get at a pharmacy. Expensive.
Many studies, sometimes it’s effective some times not.
GI dr told me the same.

My IBS lead me to my doctor. I did a poop sample testing for different parasites, etc. Everything came back okay. She sent me to a gastroenterologist. Of course, I'll have to have a colonoscopy. I told her my habit of prune juice. Anyone else? I've been taking a cup of prune juice every morning for years. I'm 76 and I think I started in my 30s? She told me to stop with the stimulants of coffee and prune juice. I myself, had suspected it might be the culprit. So I stopped. It led my body into a tailspin of constipation. So, I tried metamucil, anyone else. Long story short I'm still struggling. Don't think metamucil is going to help. I do, however think prune juice was the culprit. I'm now taking IBS clear and Emma. My stomach has really settled down I just have to figure out how to have regular bowel movements now. Would love to hear anyone's thoughts or similar situation perhaps.

4 ReactionsI had a similar experience with laxatives, struggled for years with constipation and tried all the healthier options but usually I ended up with bloating and gas, eventually I started using laxatives. I knew it wasn’t good to depend on them but desperate people do desperate things, however I don’t have this issue anymore and I owe it all to an apple a day, honestly it worked better than the laxatives I tried.

4 ReactionsI'm glad that worked for you. It sounds way too easy. How old are you? I did the apple thing in my early twenties and it worked. Now, with 77 coming up.
Just be honest with everything. That's really important here.
