Liver cancer is the sixth most common cancer in the world. While it's less common in the U.S. than globally, the incidence is increasing at an alarming rate. According to the American Cancer Society, 1 in 5 people with liver cancer in the United States are Latino, with a 4.7% increase since 2000. Due to factors such as access to care, obesity and alcohol use, liver cancer disproportionately affects Hispanic and Latino communities in the United States.
