Oct 28, 2021 | Kanaaz Pereira, Connect Moderator | @kanaazpereira

The Center for Health Equity and Community Engagement Research virtual fall retreat was held on September 22 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm CST. The theme was “Partnering with Resilient Communities to Foster Equitable and Inclusive Research and Healthcare.” The retreat brought together 145 community partners, scientists, and allied health staff to learn and engage with our communities.

Leadership from the Cancer Center, Center for Health Equity and Community Engagement Research, Enterprise Community Engagement, and population health researchers presented the importance of community engagement, listening to community needs and priorities, and how Mayo Clinic is working together with communities to ensure that research is inclusive.
