Are there any promising new diagnosing tools for the early detection of Pancreatic cancer?
I have read about research possibilities……but it doesn’t seem like anything yet.
Anything would be better than nothing.
That is the tragedy of this disease it is too late in so many cases by the time the cancer is discovered.

For a patient it is difficult to determine alternative treatments outside of whipple type surgery, current approved chemotherapy drugs and radiotherapy where there is so much going on with clinical trials. Most oncologists follow a conservative approach and feel uncomfortable to help with non approved treatments. How can we help patients manoeuvre through this global maze when they are faced with the challenges of this disease to determine new therapies that are still not approved. Patient choice has often to be made but with little support.

My dad also died from it in 3 months ,I don’t ever want to watch that happen to anyone else! I’m still devastated he was just 68.Lived healthy live & hard working . I don’t understand why he didn’t know until it was not treatable regardless if it would have helped.

hi Karen, yes all the webinars are recorded and archived for later viewing. You can also continue the conversation with fellow Connect members after the event. Simply bookmark this page to view the recording later.

Here is a listing of all the upcoming and past Q&A events as well: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/webinars/

What’s the latest in clinical trials for people with inoperable pancreatic cancer? I’ve heard there are some using a “virus vector”? What is that all about?

I find your live sessions very hard to get into. You definitely need to improve this. I somehow stumbled into Part 1 – but can’t find any gateway to Part 2. Just did a college webinar that was so much easier!!

I’m not seeing this Part 2 video at all. It should be live right now, I think. The meeting notice said Nov 16th from 11am to 11:30am CT.

I can not get into Part 2 either. Can not figure out how to access and Part 1 the video did not work? Will these be recorded for future viewing? Disappointing.

There is no information about how to access the webinar.

I’m wondering if they got the time wrong. The first webinar was held at noon. The Part 1 video just appeared on the page that gave the information about it. But that’s not happening with Part 2, so that’s why I think maybe they published the wrong time. Just guessing.
