That’s interesting! What therapy did you do? Stretching? Did it give all at once or slowly? They’ve told me surgery is used for pain and it might or might not loosen up the joint. What was your surgery for? I’ve asked the doctors but I don’t seem to get an answer as to what is the actual cause of the tightening. Like is it actual tightening or loss of flexibility in the tissues?
Don’t remember the meds it was so long ago. Conditions: disrupted sleep cycles, hopelessness, suicidal thoughts. Vigerous exercise-running and shooting baskets at the Y gave temporary relief. Lately a doctor on a radio program said they know certain parts of the brain are OVER active in a depressed person. Not underactive like you’d think. He said some depression meds do this-slow down those overactive parts. His discussion was about Psilobe mushrooms and how they do this better than most meds. And on the series Drugs on Discovery? channel a guy was suffering from migrane headaches and he grew his own mushrooms and took monthly doses which stopped the headaches.
Jan 19, 2012 · excessive eye tearing
What can I do for this? It’s been going on for years but lately gotten much worse. For some reason if I’m lying down or just being very still the watering will slow or stop but then if I walk around it’s very bad. I usually carry a tissue to blot my eyes. And there is itching too. I’m 63. Maybe winter has something to do with it.
See if medication will help first of all. I did for me famously. Then you need to get goals to work on-to build a life. You are no different. Irrational illogical self concepts have become a habit of your thinking causing you to withdraw. You can achieve career goals just like anyone else. Just like anyone else you have to work, put up with difficulties and persist. Get serious about life. Most important: Your attitudes towards others. Don’t hate anybody period! Understand there are people out there who condem, gossip, criticize. Nothing you can do about them. If you recieve unfair treatment use this understanding. Don’t spend time with such persons but tend to your own goals your own self. Practice kindness towards people. Old Jewish saying: Say little, do much.
Jan 19, 2012 · frozen shoulder
Anybody have advice on treatments for frozen shoulder? The surjeons here say operations are mainly for pain. I don’t have much pain-just limited movement. Wouldn’t a replacement do the trick though? I can only raise my are to about straight out in front. The elbow works of course so I can reach overhead a short way. I had rotator cuff rapair about thirty years ago-they put a staple in. The doctor said the frozen condition which only started to happen maybe five years ago was the result of the way they did surjury back then.
Jan 10, 2012 · hypnosis as an adjunct treatment
There seems to be a lot of evidence for the value of hypnosis in medical treatment-from centuries ago to the present. I’m reading the late Dave Elman’s book ‘Hypnotherapy’. He trained many doctors and dentists to use hypnosis. I came here looking for the current medical opinion on the use of hypnosis. Please comment if you have any thoughts or experience.
