Feb 20, 2019 · Weird symptoms in Brain & Nervous System

@ambrose Hi, how did you get tested for the MTHFR genes? Did you do the swab or blood work? I've been reading up on that but my insurance company won't cover the blood test. I read that if you have your B levels checked and folate along with homocystein, those results together will let you know if you're B deficient. Do you know if that is another way? I also read thiamine is safe to take and doesn't cause any side affects of toxicity.

I would keep asking the doctors for help. If you don't ask you won't get anywhere. Sounds like you need more tests. I'm not a doctor but it could be Lyme disease and it's coinfections can cause all those symptoms and more, plus…the spirochetes hate heat…the lyme disease and coinfection tests that regular doctors do are outdated and inaccurate like the Elisa and the Western Blot. You don't have to be bitten by a tick, it could be a spider, mosquito or other biting fly etc…It will affect you when your immune system is low. If you exhausted all your other tests with no results then maybe see a Lyme Specialist. I know two things for me that were specific for Lyme was when I ate sugar or carbs I would be in overall body pain the next day and when I was put on an antibiotic for something else like a sinus infection I would get better but my symptoms would return if I got stressed or especially if I ate sugar, dairy, wheat. I have a Tarlov Cyst in my sacrum that affects my bladder. Lyme and it's coinfections will attack the parts of the body that are weak.

COMPRESSION SOCKS !!!!
I walked away after my reply and remembered (my mind has some neuropathy) compression socks work great for foot and leg neuropathy for me. I have several kind of compression socks and found only one kind of compression sock works for me. So again it's trial and error but it provides me with great relief above anything else right now. Sometimes I wear them for 3 days and nights straight(no stinky feet here) when the pain has peaked and the compression socks really calms down the pain! Hope this helps. I got them from Amazon.

Your pins and needles stop after you take your sleeping pill? Did the doctor's say why the neuropathy you have would get worse? I'm still on a roller coaster of trying to figure out why I have peripheral neuropathy. My feet get worse when I walk. I haven't used CBD oil. I've read that people try different kinds of CBD oil (brands)because what works for one may not work for another. To soothe my feet, I soak my feet in a dish basin with warm water, epsom salts (epsom salt is magnesium so magnesium is being absorbed thru your feet just in case you take any meds that interact with magnesium)and add Himalayan pink salt to my foot bath. The hotter my feet get in shoes or the shower, the more pins and needles I get too so I cool them down with cool water. I have also rubbed some Frankincense on the soles of my feet am and pm. I've researched more ways to help neuropathy but I'm limiting my trials because I have to go for more blood work and don't want anything impacting my test results. I have two Tarlov Cysts in my sacrum which I feel is part of if not most of my neuropathy now. But that's still being investigated. Vitamin B12 methyl only is supposed to help with neuropathy. I think it was helping the neuropathy I have but I had to stop all my vitamins/herbs due to possible malabsorption or SIBO. Believe this or not, I get a bit of neuropathy relief from coffee with caffeine. It's really weird because I could never drink caffeine before.

Just saying research and read up on the B6 ingredients and know yourself. I'm going for tests to see if I have SIBO or malabsorbtion because I only took 16.7mg of B6 once a day for 3 weeks and my B6 blood work was 106.7 and the B6 limit in blood work is 21.6 so I'm more than triple high B6.

Be sure to check that the B vitamin you are taking is really a B vitamin. Be sure it is GMP or NSF certified or third party tested. Not all B is the same.

I would be cautious of supplements/herbs etc. unless you have checked with places like ConsumerLab or Labdoor to make sure they are not contaminated and the labels accurately identify what is in the container so you know what you using. Always check for interactions. These labs also check contents of Kefir and yogurts and protein powders etc. I purchased the ConsumerLab membership and they do have CBD oil explanations as well as approved and not approved. There is CBD oil and there is hemp oil supplements and lotions. One example that was tested and approved is Bluebird Botanicals Hemp Classic 6X Concentrated and Plus CBD oil hemp softgels are just a couple but be aware that they do not provide high doses used clinically.

Feb 16, 2019 · Lions Mane in Neuropathy

@peggyn I have lion's mane but I haven't used it yet. I bought it from Healing Spirits Herb Farm in New York. I called there and ordered it over the phone. I spoke to Andrea (she's wonderful and helpful) there and told her my symptoms of neuropathy and more and she recommended I start slowly with Japanese Knotweed, Lion's Mane, Lyme Support tonic and St. John's Wort. My Lion's Mane is in powder form and it says to add a teaspoon to yogurt, applesauce or smoothies. It's part of a protocol that an herbalist named Stephen Buhner researched for people with Lyme Disease and it's co-infections which includes neurological lyme and neuropathy. There is alot of Buhners info online just google his name. From everything I've researched, our health starts with us and our immune systems. We have to get our immune systems in good health and strong. I'll start my Lion's Mane today and keep you posted.
