Thu, Jan 3 5:34pm · recurring abdominal adhesions in Women's Health

I asked the question know that this was an old post because I was diagnosed with abdominal wall pain in 2017. When I had an oophorectomy in November 2018, part of my small intestine was stuck to the abdominal wall. My doctor did not have an explanation as to how occurred. Could have been previous surgery or injury. Since the surgery in November, I now have pain in my side and the pain goes down my leg. I attempted to go for a walk today and had to turn around because of the pain. I am now wondering if scar tissue is developing where the ovary was removed.

I take ibuprofen and tylenol but they don't have any real effect. The nurse is from the doctor's office (the one who performed the surgery). I am supposed to see the doctor on the 14th. At that point, maybe I will be better than I am now. In the meantime, I am making a list of symptoms and keeping a journal of symptoms for the next week. I think the frustrating thing is not knowing whether this part of the normal healing process or not. If there is a problem, I want to nip it in the bud as soon as possible. I don't chronic pain that goes on for years.

I had a unilateral oophorectomy on November 27, 2018 and I am in pain in my pelvic area on the right side. The surgery was to remove a large cyst. This was done laproscopically and I thought I would be almost recovered by now. It has been 5 weeks. A section of my small intestine was affixed to the right abdominal wall and the doctor fixed that. I now have pain in my right side that comes from my pelvic area and goes down into my thigh. I feel a burning sensation and puffiness in my right abdomen. I am supposed to see the doctor next week. I am concerned that this could be abdominal adhesions or nerve damage. I am not sure if what Is happening normal or not normal. I have spoken to the nurses at the doctor's office but she does not seem concerned. I am concerned and I am not sure if this is normal or not. Has anyone else had complications after an oophorectomy? This surgery was done in Tallahassee. I am regretting having the surgery. I am in worse pain now than I was before.

I hope you have some luck on your next injection. I am going back to the pain doctor this week because the first ultrasound guided injection did nothing, It is discouraging when no one can answer the question: what is causing the pain and can anything be done to stop the pain.

I have had two injections. One was by my primary doctor. The second was ultrasound guided. No change in pain. In fact, the pain has gotten worse since the second injection. I have been making changes to my diet but no changes as yet. It is difficult to say what triggers the most painful episodes. I can’t determine any correlation between activity and the pain. Thank you for the link.
