My most recent PSA test results were 99. I have had results in normal range, 45, 52, 61, etc. I have also had multiple biopsy's and all of the results come back negative. Is there an explanation for this, it's nerve wracking!
Well, to begin with, you seem to be using a different scale for your PSA than that with which I am familiar. My understanding was that a "normal" PSA was <4.0? So I'm not sure what your numbers mean. Next, there are a variety of conditions beside prostate cancer that can elevate your PSA, bike riding comes to mind. So it is important that you have a baseline PSA that is "normal" for you, and then look at new results relative to that baseline.
As for the biopsy, you can have a malignant tumor but a negative biopsy if the samples taken (usually 12-14) don't happen to hit the tumor. Consult your Doctor/urologist about another biopsy, for which I learned you will want to be sedated. Good Luck, TA
I have a ? About a rise in my PSA. I have been on ADH for 4 years with Zytiga. My PSA has been.006 for all 4 years until now it went up to .19
Is recurrence the only thing that could cause this rise?
