I understand what you’re feeling. I was hoping to see the end of this disease with surgery in October. This after 8 chemo treatments and 15 radiation treatments. The PET scan showed spots on my hip bone and in my lungs. The bone biopsy showed metastatic cancer in my hip. Surgery was canceled and now I’m on chemotherapy and radiation treatment again. This time to control the disease.
Each time I spoke to my oncologists they expressed hope, never promises. I was somewhat prepared for bad news but not completely. Throughout this journey my family has been there for me, at times so much so that I cried for them. The one Rock that I have never stopped leaning on is my God who has promised to never leave the me. I know He is always there for I feel His presence in the love of my friends and family. I also receive His Word for me in study and prayer.
I don’t know what the future holds. I didn’t know even before my diagnosis. I live in trust that I am not alone and that if it is God’s will I will outlast this awful disease.
I’m praying for you that you have the support and strength you need to get through this. I keep an eye on this site and I am part of your background support group. God bless you.
Your reply means a lot to me. As I went through treatment I always looked around at my fellow patients and I was always moved to pray for each one, especially those who appeared worse off than me.
It doesn’t really matter who is in worse condition. I am still moved to pray for my fellow patients. Now you are on my prayer list. I pray for your healing. In my heart I see God reaching out to touch you.

I am learning as I go. I am a newbie to this group. I felt like I was the only one with stents placed, gallbladder removed and my first trip to Mayo. I’m in Minnesota. Had my 3rd chemo treatment last week. I’m just trying to navigate the diarrhea, mouth sores and neuropathy this week. I don’t know what to eat anymore. Any suggestions?
I wonder if there's a gallstones support group I could connect with @ connect.mayoclinic.org. The closest I found was the pancreatic cancer support group. Would somebody please help me connect with gallstones group? Many thanks!

the best thing to do is to try a little bit of everything until you find what agrees with you. I found that in Wendy's chocolate frosty. Half a small one would be enough to satisfy me. As I said before, the trick is to try very little at first.
Most everything else tasted bad. Sometimes one scrambled egg satisfied me, at other times it did not. Plain spaghetti with a little butter/margarine was good most of the time. Also sucking on a piece of frozen fruit.
Remember, little portions. Good luck and be well
I’m just beginning this awful journey. Found in October when I was jaundiced. They took my gallbladder out end of November. I just had my second round of chemo. It is rough. I’m glad they give me a week off to recuperate.
If he is still showing jaundice after stenting and/or surgery, sometimes they give Ursodiol (Rx). It is a bile thinner that is used for people with gallstones. Bile salts are also available as a nutritional supplement by the name of Tudca. You may want to ask his doctor if this might be a good thing to try.
I’m new to the group and your post is very consoling. Just diagnosed in October, your experience is comforting to know I’m not alone.

Did the jaundice go away before the chemo?
The jaundice went away after my first stent went in.
My husband still has jaundice.
