Does an organ transplant change your DNA?

Is weight loss from medicine handled differently than from food?

Can u turn up the volumn? I have mine up as hi as I can. People can always make it lower, and how about a report or closed captioning re heavy accents?

Just lost video and audio. Do you realize this?

Great way to work on sustainability which is the key if we want to succeed in weight loss: ” fit for life” . Do you use the body volume system from Mayo Clinic to show your patients the progress they are doing ? It could be also a good tool to show them and convince them to lose weight because of health issue and not cosmetic.

I want to know if this is the same as the diet plan on the mayo clinic you have that you pay quarterly? Because l am on that but because of my meds l can’t seem to lose any weight. And also some of the foods listed online l don’t like. And sometimes l will ask questions to the coach online and she will tell me to talk to my doctor and l know she can’t give medical advice but right now l am looking for a new medical doctor and l am only seeing the doctors at mayo but not a general practice doctor. If this is not the same program then do you get to talk or get questions from a weight loss doctor online because l don’t live near the mayo clinic?

I don’t live anywhere close to the Mayo Clinic so I bought the book on the diet. I have to say that if I ate what they had, I’d gain more weight. I did get a few good pointers, but no way to follow that diet and lose weight for me. I do not lose weight and as far as what I eat, I fly by the seat of my pants—sometimes okay; sometimes not. I can eat the same thing two days in a row and have a reading in normal range and the next time, I’ll be off of the chart! I have no idea what the difference is. There is no “team” for me, so I spend hours searching on line for food that will work. I have given up just about everything that has any taste. I am down to oven roasted chicken in salt-free, no fat broth. I can eat turnips, green beans, and broccoli. That’s about it. Fruits are a disaster. Supper still is a big guess. I ate a small serving of chicken and lettuce and tomato salad. My blood this morning was 158. That is way over for me. I have not lost any weight, and when I followed some suggestions and exercised, I gained! I wish there was a pat answer concerning weight loss, but apparently no one has figured that out yet. Good luck with your weight loss travels.

I also use spark people diet. You will like some of the recipes.

@retiredteacher Depending on how much weight you gained-muscle weighs more than non-muscle. When changing your diet it does take time for your body to adapt. Keep trying. I know I also gave up many foods…I have always been a salad and due to severe TMJ I can no longer chew anything hard or crunchy. Thankful for blenders and being a creative person.

I have fibromyalgia so I no longer eat gluten, sugar and only whole foods.

I realize this is about weight loss and I know several that struggle with their weight. We are all different and what works for one may not work for another.

I understand the feeling of being alone…Fibro and some other physical things have left me feeling alone. Do hope you can find encouragement here.

I’ve often wondered if Nutri-System or Adkins or Weight Watchers would work. It certainly wouldn’t be as frustrating as trying to guess what will work and what won’t. I have only been at this a little over a year, but it has thrown me because there is no pat answer for anything. I’ve probably checked every diet available including Spark People. That doesn’t work for me. I just keep searching and realizing that each D2 is in the battle alone because we are all so different. I am sorry you have other problems to have to deal with too. Maybe some day someone will come along with the answers or a cure. Wouldn’t that be terrific?

I have not tried any of the ones you mentioned, but can say anyone I have known who has tried Nutri-System says it was expensive and the food was not fit to eat and not healthy either.
