and @tsc, you definitely CAN have PMR ... follow this forum because my dad has PMR ... for this type of arthritis and it helped ... with your doctor; maybe that would help ... What kind of doctor are you working

Absolutely get another opinion or better yet, another doctor. The fact that the prednisone worked so...
so quickly is a good sign you have PMR ... What you need to do is to get that inflammation ... to only get short bursts isn't helpful
