I personally take a biologic called Actemra (tocilizumab). My rheumatologist had to get authorization to prescribe...
However, Actemra is FDA approved for GCA ... recently approved by the FDA for the treatment ... think a more targeted approach to the treatment ... of PMR/GCA is a step in the right direction

Are you tapering by 5 mg per week? I don't believe there is any correct way...
With PMR/GCA that isn't possible ... For PMR/GCA, you need to taper blindly ... I don't know if PMR/GCA inflammation ... said that Humira was a more optimal treatment ... It might not be just PMR/GCA.

Actemra isn't FDA approved for the treatment ... However, it is approved for the treatment ... of GCA and a few other autoimmune disorders ... I don't have GCA but I have another ... just thought if Actemra works for GCA

information that might be helpful on the treatment ... I haven't had GCA but my rheumatologist ... them know if I had any symptoms of GCA ... causing the roller coaster ride with the treatment
