Hello @bethog28 - I would talk with your doctor and ask them for a titration schedule...
prednisone for my first episode of PMR ... 1/2 mg tablet would get rid of the pain ... and went back and forth from 1 mg to ... 1/2 and have to go back to 1 mg after ... mg prednisone which got rid of the pain

My PMR came out of a 6 year remission ... I'm a side sleeper and would go back ... Had to go back on 20 mg of prednisone ... which toned down the PMR but the doc ... for the carpal tunnel surgery if the pain

husband was diagnosed last year with PMR ... that gives him any relief from the pain ... tried reducing the dosage, but the pain ... comes back within 24 hours of reducing ... gives him a little relief from the pain
