HABIT in the News: See the Story on Us in AARP Magazine!

AARP

During our hot, sticky Florida July, we had a delightful reporter from AARP come out (from her much nicer California climate) and observe our HABIT session. The result: this nice piece in the AARP Magazine!

Thank you to all of our participants in that session and our alumni for sharing their stories, and to our collaborators at other centers for your time to speak with her and help this story come together.  What a great job she does painting the picture of the program!

See what you think:

And, pass it on to friends to help us get the word out!

What a wonderful article! I have shared it with our family and friends. I think it will help them understand what we experienced during HABIT and why it has been so important to us.

I live to far away from Mayo Clinic. Are there any programs you know of in Maine?

The information in this article could be so very helpful to many people. When looking to find information about MCI there is not much to be found.
I recently attended an Alzheimer's association conference for the public and medical people working in the area.....there was no reference to MCI and no literature or information presented. My thinking was there is no $$$ to be made because of the no medication treatment for MCI.

thank you. i have seen some things on the habit program. I use calendar to write my work schedule, doctors, event i want to go to and highlighters different colors to help with what i did. I have another one in bathroom I have to record bathroom issues i am having. Now trying to find something for med quick and easy even though I don't take much. I am also 58, have fibromyalgia and had a stroke May 17, 2015. How are you doing Angie?

Unfortunately there is no HABIT program in Maine. We are training Gaylord Hospital in Connecticut, which is closer, but I understand still far away. It is our goal to train more and more centers in the upcoming years.
