They touch on its history, purpose, and an explanation of the Fontan procedure. In addition Dr. Egbe and Dr. Said discuss potential long-term side effects or diagnoses of untreated patients and the symptoms that lead to a Fontan operation. In addition, the physicians explain the long-term survival rates for patients who undergo this procedure and more importantly how they can improve those survival rates in the future.
