Leiomyosarcoma Patient Education Symposium 2018

An educational event for patients, their families and the public who are interested in the essential health issues surrounding leiomyosarcoma will be hosted in Rochester, Minnesota on July 14th, 2018. Medical experts from Mayo Clinic will provide updates about the state of the art treatment, care options and research.

Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Review up-to-date information on the diagnosis of sarcoma
  • Describe surgical interventions, emerging therapies, research and patient care for sarcoma
  • Identify medical options for treating advanced state sarcoma including innovative research trials
  • Review psychosocial issues of patients diagnosed with sarcoma and caregivers
  • Understand practical approaches to survivorship.

The event will be held from 8am-4pm in Geffen Auditorium located on the Subway Level of the Gonda Building. The registration fee of $15 includes: tuition, continental breakfast, lunch, break refreshments and optional tour of the Mayo Clinic Proton Beam Center.
