The RISE for Equity: Reflect, Inspire, Strengthen & Empower 2021 event Nov. 4–6 will explore innovative initiatives that are advancing health equity, and diversity and inclusion in health care.

Prioritizing and addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion in workforce development and organizational culture is essential to providing optimal patient care, achieving health equity, and attracting and engaging the workforce of the future. Participants join a national health care dialogue on this important subject and explore evidence-based solutions and innovative initiatives.

Target Audience:

This course is designed for both Mayo Clinic and external audiences interested in advancing health equity and diversity and inclusion in health care, including health care providers, social workers, nurses, individuals involved in talent acquisition and development such as hiring managers (HR professionals), supervisors, hospital leadership and administrators, and diversity and inclusion practitioners.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of the RISE for Equity: Reflect, Inspire, Strengthen & Empower course, learners should be able to:

  • Identify practical strategies to implement equity, inclusion, diversity and anti-racism in their own work environments
  • Summarize best practices to address health equity in health care
  • Recognize strategies to integrate innovation and technology to advance their equity, inclusion, diversity, and anti-racism initiatives

Attendance at any Mayo Clinic course does not indicate or guarantee competence or proficiency in the skills, knowledge, or performance of any care or procedure(s) which may be discussed or taught in this course.

The event will be held at the Radisson Blu Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, and live-streamed on Zoom. Mayo Clinic is closely monitoring COVID-19 prevalence and may adjust in-person course attendance limits, as necessary.
