Here’s a little more about Nick.

“I am a lifelong resident of Elk River. My father, Tom Zerwas, was the Police Chief in Elk River from 1980-2003. I was born with a congenital heart defect, and my parents were told I would not live past 7 years old. I have had a total of 10 open heart surgeries; the last surgery was 7 years ago. While I have been told 6 different times that I have less than 6 months left to live, through the power of prayers and the advancements in medicine I am now feeling great!" -- Nick Zerwas
