Wonderful set of questions to ask. I am also MOST interested in this approach…a new one to me. I have tried everything else.

If you are a senior on Medicare there are funds available every year to pay for physical therapy appointments. A physical therapist can check for you as to the amount and help you manage those available funds to the fullest. A PT can show you exercises you can do on your own and also ones he/she can assist you doing. i am 90 years old and would be stiff as a board and confined to a nursing home if it weren't for the PT's in my life.
There was no help with pain while using the cannabis nor afterwards. The pharmacist had other regimens I could have tried….various combinations of the key cannabis parts—-and also forms of it to use—-but I opted out at that point. She was most helpful with suggesting new medicines for treating the nausea and constipation also. However at that point after nine meds and acupuncture I was ready to stop and live with my pain. I now have a power chair and am able to be around more in my senior housing complex. i am ninety years old and doctors felt that could have had affect on side problems.
i think that medical cannabis is worth a try. I tried it because I had read Of success for some. I was on it for three months and gastric side effects kicked in before any pain relief. In the state where I live you must be certified by a physician and then you are under the supervision of an experienced pharmacist. I was using three forms of the cannabis , starting with very low doses and gradually increasing. The program here requires close monitoring and i received that.
Yes, I had 14 sessions of acupuncture with a Chinese family practice physician with a background of acupuncture skills. I received no relief. I have found no relief from idiopathic PN……..having tried 8 or 9 meds and cannabis. Side effects always occurred before any pain relief. I have now quit searching, have purchased a power chair and am living with my PN. I am 90 years old and am in otherwise good health.
I had fifteen sessions of acupuncture with a Chinese MD and had no results from them. It was an interesting procedure and he had great credentials but no results. My insurance paid 80% of the costs. I have also recently tried medical marijuana under the direction of a pharmaceutical company as is the method in my state, Minnesota. Unfortunately side effects occurred before I had any pain relief from the PN. The company has other levels of cannabis that I could try but after the many meds I have tried and the above procedures I have decided to live with my problem. I have just purchased a power chair (scooter type) which makes it easier for me to be about the senior residence where I live. Medicare does pay for such a chair but I did not qualify but it is worth checking into.
