Hi Coleen and the Gang!
Have been a bit tied up with my Mom who has dementia.
But that is another topic I will address in terms of stress that it
causes. I have a few experiences to share on this topic.

Hi Coleen, Managing by listening to 70’s music, Having a glass of wine every now and then (tempranillo red spanish wine) and helping other folks with their problems and situations. Its gets the mind thinking about other things and not myself.

Hals. your two times up to bat (52 & 53) with the bases loaded , you hit it out of the park with your attitude! My father died at age 52 after having a series of heart attacks. His first one at age 40. He had a type A personality, was physically fit, not overweight but he smoked and had high blood pressure. You can die of anything! One thing he had , he never felt sorry for himself and he played his cards. I agree 100% with you on your attitude. In my case , yes I have stress, I had high cholesterol and blood pressure, that is controlled by Crestor 20mg and Irbersartan 300mg and a aspirin 325mg. Every time I go see my cardiologist ( every six months) my BP goes up 140/90 otherwise it is generally less than 120/80 I would say 90% of the time . I am 63 right now. I have gotten depressed , I don’t take nothing for that except playing 70’s music and having a glass of red wine (tempranillo) every now and then, but as you say I try to write a new page every day. Right now I am 20 lbs overweight even though I do not look it. I am working on that , but will not let that make me lose my sleep.

May 13, 2016 · Supplements vs statins - which is more effective? in Heart & Blood Health

Thankful, its JoeM, the first time I took statins(zocor) 20+ years ago, I
experienced pain in my joints, it got so bad I was prescribed celebrex. The
result was I stopped taking both of them. Yes, the pain went away. I find
that “doctor’s” will treat you with whats out there in the market and that
some of them are not too sold out on natural remedies or vitamins. I have
read in some articles that taking “niacin B3” is a cholesterol buster, but
again follow your doctors orders.

Hi troops! Ok lets talk about stress. I call it the invisible killer. The more technology embraces our lives, the more stressful you become. I”ll give you my experience , we have everything now, news, weather, situations, requests, email, notifications, etc.,tens of them a minute! We eat more, we want to do more, like watching TV and eating at the same time, but time has not changed, its still 60 seconds to the minute, 60 minutes to the hour, its the same time , the thing is we want to squeeze more and more into it.
It starts to take a toll on our bodies. This is where “sickness” starts to pop up, combine this with “not enought time” (physical inactivity)and ( bad food habits) …and we end up talking here! I imagine the brain getting ready before you wake up, when you wake up, you are already “stressed”.
I do recommend a book called Mayo Clinic Guide to Stress-Free Living or similar that you can use as a guide to organize, minimize, contain, handle your stress. Yes, my friends, I do feel stress, I talk to friends and family, l listen to music, I read , all this helps!

Will look it up! Thank you.
I have cut down on fried foods, I am eating more smaller portions of food and I am taking more time to enjoy each bite vs gobbling down the whole plate fast like I did in the past.

Greetings to all. First of all I want to wish all a Happy Mother’s Day observance.
I joined this group because I am convinced that a “team” approach to our conditions will greatly improve our individual health with everyone’s input. We can input on themes of stress management, exercise, food management, medications etc, following the doctor’s orders. Tks.Joe
