Mar 31, 2016 · I have acid reflux so bad it is coming up into my sinuses in Digestive Health

A friend commented to me yesterday that her doctor advised her to take Gaviscon or similar medication instead of increasing the dosage of potentially harmful acid reduction drugs. I had increased Prilosec 40mgms in am to an additional 40mgms at night per order of my GI doctor. I still have reflux after several weeks of added dose and now my leg cramps have increased from the increased dosage. I am going to try the Gaviscon advice and will let you know if it works. Some things work for some people and not others.

Mar 31, 2016 · Chronic Abdominal Bloating and Pain in Digestive Health

If you did not have a diagnosis from a doctor for Celiac disease you should. It is not a common disorder and far too many people are self diagnosing and “feeding” into the gluten free and sometimes expensive diet without needing to do so. The food companies are making millions off people who don’t really need gluten free. I suppose the placebo effect is good for some it is certainly great for the manufacturers of gluten free products.

Mar 24, 2016 · I recently failed two preps for a colonoscopy in Digestive Health

I am 73 years old and had my first colonoscopy at age 40. I had a maternal aunt and uncle diagnosed with colon cancer a few years before I had some rectal bleeding. My doctor suggested colonoscopy. I had polyps removed that would have become malignant over time so had to have another in a year and several since then. I was hoping this would be my last but a polyp was found.
Yes, the prep is awful but symptoms are over in 24 hours or less. I think the prep is well worth the possiblity of preventing colon cancer. People have to buck up and just do it. I have had IBS since i was a teenager. The prep for lower GI xrays back then upset my colon for days. Colonoscopy prep has not. Unflavored Go lightly which I did until my last prep in February was less of a problem than the Miralax and Gatorade split that I in February.
Propofol has greatly improved my post anesthetic problems I had with other anesthetics.
