Dec 13, 2019 · Life expectancy after heart transplant for GCM in Transplants

Hi Alyse,

Thank you for your prompt reply.
His condition is being managed on various immune suppressant drugs. He had an infusion of alenzetumb? Which has kept him well for the past year, thank Goodness.
He’s 26 yr old and managing it, for the most part, quite independently. Which makes things difficult as we both spend our time trying to protect each other by not asking questions! It’s so difficult.

Thanks again.

We feel exhausted some days and we haven’t been through what you guys/gals have!! Give yourself a break lol’ 😉
We’re supporting our son from a distance … and that’s very tiring!!
Let alone what you have been through !!?!!
Happy decluttering and moving. Go gently… we’re only human!!
Happy days ladies. XXL

Our son has taught us not to think ‘something is wrong’ when he has a hiccup… we’re learning to deal with things one moment at a time … he usually shares with us AFTER he has dealt with things.. which we have mixed feelings about.. he doesn’t want or need DRAMA! I can get very emotional and step into drama if I don’t stay in Present Moment Awareness.
No problems asking questions. Knowledge is power! Have a lovely evening XXL

How wonderful to have a Transplant Support Group…. we are not so organised , here in the U.K. Or if there is one I haven’t found it..?
I really appreciate how ‘well connected’ the Mayo Clinic and Group are 🙂 I never feel alone even when I feel alone… if you get my drift 😉
Soo very grateful to be a part of the group.
I’ve recently joined ‘Slimming World’ and lost nearly a stone in 4 months ( alongside a really bad back injury when I put 4 lb on in a week!)
The Mayo Diet looks great but I’m financially committed to the SW diet for now. I intend to maintain my weight with the Mayo one once I have reached my goal! 7 lbs to go. Happy eating all … we can lose weight AND enjoy ‘good food and health’. Love and Light, Linda xx

Dear Friends,
One of our sons concern was weight…. he was very keen to improve his overall health. Consequently, his words follow.
‘I had a turbo trainer in the house which I attached my bike to in the house. It helped me do stuff without having to go out the house.
Didn’t really loose any weight until I got a prescription from the docs for excersise and started going to the gym everyday.
Do more and think about cutting down on chocolate and fat…. steroids make you hungry, just do t eat as much. Annoying but true.xx ‘

Hope this helps.

We are with you all in Spirit…. giving Thankx for every extra day. Love, blessings and Happy Holidays xxxx
Linda
