Hello, I have Obstructive Sleep Apnea. I currently use a Cpap and although I have used it for years, I still am uncomfortable with it. It is an irritation. Years ago, pre-OSA, I broke my jaw and had to have it surgically repaired. My alignment and bite is off. My dentist has given me oral appliances to reduce bruxing and one to bring my jaw forward to help with OSA. Was too uncomfortable to tolerate. I also broke my nose at the same time and broke it again years later. I have been diagnosed with a deviated septum. Could either of these be a contributing factor in my OSA. I have no risk factors, I don’t drink heavily, don’t smoke, not overweight, not male, not over 60, not black. Would I see my dentist for help with OSA, or an ENT? Would septoplasty be a possible solution or reduction of severity of OSA. Thank you.
