if a new med is started and the plan is to slowly increase to the optimal ml dosage and the child is doing well at the lower dose does it have to be increased?

Our 3 1/2 year old daughter had her first seizure a week ago. She had 10 seizures all together that lasted approx 15 seconds each. Her dr has put her on oxcarbazephine 300 mg. starting her at 1 ml for the 1 wk, now she is on 2 ml for this week and then will go to 3 ml where she will remain. My question is, is it necessary to increase meds to 3 ml if she is doing well at a lower ml? Prior to cluster seizures she was a “normal- healthy” child. Thank you
