Mar 14, 2017 · Chronic inguinal pain in Chronic Pain

I have had pain in my right groin for over 20 years now. About 5 years ago a dr found adhesions or scar tissue all over my abdomen. . They believe my main right nerve in groin is being strangled? or entrapped. I guess the last couple years cryoablation has been helping in pelvic area wheras in the years before drs tended to stay away from that area. …might be a light at end of tunnel finally. I met a new nerve doc and he will try to establish what nerves are involved and start cryoablation(icing the affected nerves) . From what ive read on it , the pain is worse then steroid shots, but people that its worked on said it was worth less pain. Depending on the person and how fast the nerves grow back, might have to have it redone every 6 months. Some can go longer. I hope it works ive had this pain since 1995 and around the clock pain since 2012. Things that make the pain worse, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, eating, gas pains, hard bowel movements, cold or stress, laughing,crying_things that make it better baths, heating pad, stool softener, laying with legs elevated, massages to affected muscles (maybe pain is tighening muscles n stuff), pain meds___( 1985,1990 )2 c sections, 1 of them with infection _(1995)_pain starts—- (2010) 3 nerves cut in groin -(2012) tubes n ovaries taken out and dr verfies adhesions everywhere and (2017) maybe pain free? I hope so

Yes ive been told by at least 6 differnt types of drs not to get uterus removed because it just makes more area for adhesions or scar tissue to grow.. when i was reading about the cryoablation , it mentioned they use it for uterus lining to stop heavy bleeding also.

Nerve block helped partially for a day. I think just the numbing stuff worked. When doc cut 3 nerves she saw one on femoral i believe . Ill find out more next week ,been so long i dont remember. I do remember her saying its one she couldnt cut because i would be without the use of my leg.

Ive forgotten about this site for awhile. Nobody in minnesoda or texas could help me. (2012-2016) Im back in alaska now and they finally figured out i have adhesion growing all over abdomen. They believe my main right nerve in groin is being strangled? I guess or entrapped. I guess the last couple years cryoablation has been helping in pelvic area wheras in the years before drs tended to stay away from that area. …might be a light at end of tunnel finally. I meet new doc next week and he will try to establish what nerves are involved and if im good candidate for cryoablation . From what ive read on it , the pain is worse then steroid shots, but people that its worked on said it was worth less pain. Depending on the person and how fast the nerves grow back, might have to have it redone every 6 months. Some can go longer. I have right side groin pain for about 15 years. Don’t know what caused it. It has progressively gotten worse. 2 years ago I had 3 nerve cut. Can’t remember right off which ones but doc said they were inflamed. I felt better for bout six months but now it’s back in full force.it’s horrible. Sometimes I get a break for couple days. I kept journal of pain but there was nothing to pinpoint what stopped pain or what started it up again. Moved to a new state recently and hav an appt coming up with a nerve doc in nd. Hopefully he has more insight but I’m starting to lose faith.
