Hi, Maggie, I was diagnosed with breast cancer on Dec. 23, 2011 and had a mastectomy on Jan. 11, 2012. There is a website called beyondtheshock.com that I have been visiting since and it has been so helpful to me during this time. Please visit. You can ask questions and get answers from people who are going through or have been through what you are. There are some really great women on this site! I hope this helps you and good luck to you.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal with this. I had a mastectomy about a month ago and it is devastatin to say the least. Beyond the Shock is a website I have been visiting since I was diagnosed and you can chat with other women going through the same things that you are. There are some really remarkable and supportive women on this site. I hope you try it out. It has really helped me! Good luck to you!

I had a unilateral mastectomy about a month ago and I suggest to have plenty pillows around to prop her arms on. I did recline with drains in place. Have her do all the exercises they suggest. This helps with soreness, drainage and swelling. Good luck to her and you. I hope this helps. There is also a website I have been visiting since my surgery that has given me a lot of and support during this time. You can chat with people going through the same thing that your are. boni, I am very sorry to hear about your condition. There is a website called Beyond the Shock that I have been visiting since my diagnosis with stage 2 breast cancer where you can ask questions to other people going through different types of breast cancers and treatments. They are very supportive and knowledgeable. They have helped me answer a lot of questions about my dia gnosis and treatment and what to expect. I hope you visit and get some answers. Good luck to you!
