Sep 3, 2011 · Constant dizziness/imbalance in Brain & Nervous System

I’m a 59 year old female and have had the same issues since March 2011. Started with sinus infection. I’ve had no-spinning, but dizzy and balance. CT Scan, heart, angiogram, EKG, EEG all good. Ear,Nose & Throat (ENT) Specialist diagnosed me with Vestibular Optic Reflex. My eyes feel like they are trying to cross, nausea, blur vision and sounds drive me crazy. Life changing for me. I’ve seen every doc imagineable…can’t find a cure. I’m working with Physical Therapist for the balance which is better. The other, no. My neurologist agreed with the ENT diagnosis. I’m just not so sure. My ears have ringing sensation, my eyes feel like they are trying to focus, but can’t. The PT and ENT continue to reassure me that the inner ear hairs are getting a wrong signal – telling my brain that I’m moving, when I’m not, which cause my eyes to google around too. It’s just been horrible, so I can empathize with you. Recommended Zofran for nausea. Meccalizine for motion. 2mg Xanax for nervousness. I even had a tooth extracted that I thought could be causing the problem with the 8th Cranial Nerve….nope. I sure hope we find answers. Good luck to you, I hope you learn something new to help you.

Sep 3, 2011 · Alzheimer's Disease in Brain & Nervous System

Yes, I can help you. My mother has suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease for 7 years. This organization has been a life saver for me. There is a discussion group for caregivers that is excellent. Here’s the link. Wishing you well.http://www.alz.org/index.asp
