So happy to hear you’re doing well with your Conformis hip replacement. I hope you continue to heal quickly and happily. Today i am 7 weeks and 1 day postop from my bi-lateral Total Knee Replacements. I would highly recommend everyone considering a knee replacement to find a Dr. who is trained on Conformis. I have worked hard on PT at the clinic and at home and my ROM is 126. Not able to get past 5 on flattening but hoping that gets better over time and continued work. I recognize that I have been lucky so far and had no medical setbacks like some who have written in. Anyway, I am recommending Conformis and a good Dr. if your going to do a TKR. Donna

Chi girl, So glad you’re doing better now. It appears we just have to wait it out sometimes and let our bodies do their mending. I’m 13 days post surgery with bilateral TKR. By all measurements available from my PT I’ve got great ROM for 2 weeks post op. I’ve still got a lot to go to get at ‘0’ or ‘120’. But, I’m sleeping better at night but still wake up multiple times during the night. Sometimes my husband will get me up and we’ll walk around the house to loosen up the tight muscles. I’m trying to do everything my PT tells me to do.
I know I have a lot of work ahead, but it will be so much better after the healing.

John. I had muni-lateral yesterday. So I’m still in the hospital today and should be discharged tomorrow. So far, other than a growing amount of pain as the block wears off, I am doing very well. I am up and using the walker to go to the restroom and they’ve had me walking down the halls, not very far, and occupational therapy had me put my shorts and top on etc. so that is going well. I know there’s many tough days ahead but I’m happy that I’m doing Really well according to everyone I’ve talked to so far. Pain is manageable although it is getting worse. Stupidly I was showing off how high I could lift my left leg yesterday and pulled a groin muscle. According to everybody here that is not and then Carmen thing to happen. So, word of advice to those who have not completed their surgery yet, just because you can do it doesn’t meet you should do it. Donna

John, in pre-op yesterday as they were inserting my IV the nurses again found out about my Tolly veins. I had 2 starts in my R and L arms. A different person came in and tried 1 and finally John came in for the 4th try and did a wonderful job. Just the right spot and placement so moving my hand and armCause no pain.

Doodles418. Thanks for the tips. 1 day to go for my bi-lateral TKRs. I’ll talk with my Dr about Xanax or something else. I’m not ver a good sleeper. And the cooling pad between your knees at night sounds like a great idea. Did you leave the machine on all night?

Sherman, Golfing at 3 months. That sounds pretty good to me! I’ll be very happy if I can get out on the course in 3 months. And, I’m only 67. You’ve helped raise my expectations.
