Aug 5, 2019 · Scar tissue after knee replacement in Joint Replacements

I had TKR back in January 2019. I continue to build scar tissue that comes back right back. My PT claims "I lay scar tissue down faster than he has ever seen it. I'm working with my Doc ..mostly with NSAI's with on and off reduced tightness. I'm very active bikeing and Yoga all have made my leg strong but not without a lot of warming up to get it moving.

I'm sorry your are having do much trouble and I hope they solve the problem soon. Mine is minor in comparison if my blood work is clean no infection or bone problem I get ND MRI as I do have other issues a Burser, tendonites, AC issues. Again so sorry I can well imagine how hard it is. Hope you get ANSWERS SOON.

May 29, 2019 · Chronic, debilitating pain after knee replacement in Joint Replacements

HI Everyone, It does seem that knee discomfort and pain continue for a long while for some people. I'm 4 months out and have extremely tight bands around my knee. I had relief for about a week when taking Meloxicam but it all came back. I walk and exercise but fine it easer to do things if I warm up first. i.e. leg on ball with strap under foot gently back and forth. So it seems not to go away. My pt offered "Ive never seen anyone lay down scar tissue like you." So I guess keep moving.

Apr 23, 2019 · Chronic, debilitating pain after knee replacement in Joint Replacements

Just had 3 month Doc. Visit. Reported painful leg cramps that I have every night for past 3 or so weeks. (I wake up with my knee bent almost back to my buttocks.) I have to slowly push it straight and then all kinds of muscle cramps in hamstrings and calves. My research on leg crams suggests overworking muscles So lightened up tp no avai. Bend is still in 127 to 130 range but have lost 0 flatness to .2 mostly because my knee is so sore from bending so acutely at night, pa rx Meloxican Dr. Suggested muscle memory and such. I added Maganesium and Gator Aide. This reduced cramps until early morning vs all night. Will let Y’all know if it get better. Thanks for your contributions.

I’m almost 3 months post op and my knee feels very tight every move I make I have to push thru Spider-Man’s web. I keep progressing because my daughter had both knees done 5 years ago is very happy she did it but claims “it’s a journey mom, your tough and you just have to keep working it. “ Motion is location.” So I just keep breaking the tape or spider webs.
You will do good when you know it’s the course for some patients even though some of my male friends do not experience this and don’t know what I’m talking about.

I’m almost 3 months post opportunity TKR. The various post on stiff knee or the feeling of tight tape as others describe I cantinue to experience. The other day I stepped on the curb and my foot stuck while my knee continued forward ( at least 145 degrees) . I was playing Golf and looking at my ball in the sand trap. My other knee made a 3 point landing and broke the fall. I don’t think I hurt anything but now my knee feels like I have have wet tape around it. I can still bend it after a warm up.
My other problem is in bed at night my leg bends in a tight cramp and I have to gently bend it with my hand. I’m no kid I’m 80 and when I do things I haven’t done for awhile both legs hurt equally. Left had TKR. Thanks for sharing it’s helped me to feel that I’m having a somewhat typical recovery.

Yes, pretty much the same. Hot to touch swelling, that I finally reduced from 17” to 16 “ by following the edema PT series and no advanced series.

Mar 28, 2019 · Has anyone had a tight band feeling after total knee replacement? in Joint Replacements

I’m 7 weeks post TKR and experience the tight knee band across the lower half of the knee. It feels like I break thru the binding whil doing PT only to have it come back again. Also, my knee bend back and lock during the night. Seems as though my ligaments? In my hamstrings tighten up. I’ve started walking in the pool and this seems to be Lessing. Thanks to the posts on “knee band” experiences I feel better as others had no such experience.
