Mon, Jan 28 9:25am · Lichen planus in Autoimmune Diseases

I have oral lichen planus for over 10 years. My dentist gives me a steroid gel to put on it when it's bad but I did some research and started making my own toothpaste. I have not had a flair up in over 3 years. I mix equal parts(one tablespoon) baking soda and coconut oil and several drops of Act flouride to make my dentist happy. It takes some getting used to but after a while it won't bother you. You can also add organic peppermint oil from a health food store to it if you like the minty taste. Google it. There are many variations out there but it has helped me tremendously. I also mentioned having my teeth pulled but my dentist said it would not help as it would still affect your gums and inside cheeks. Hope this helps.

Mon, Jan 28 9:04am · Afib: What causes an episode? What if I don't notice? in Heart Rhythm Conditions

Stress will sometimes bring my on. Or sometimes I wake up with it. I think each person is a little different. Try eliminating caffeine if you drink it.

I would suggest a one month monitor. I had the 24 hour one 20 years ago and nothing showed up. Left the ER thinking what I felt was normal and nothing to worry about. Jump ahead 20 years went to a cardiologist for another issue, he had me wear a 1 month monitor and after 2 weeks sure enough the afib happened. 166beats a minute for 2 hours. I now have heart failure too probably because I was left to go 20 years with no Afib treatment.

Sat, Jan 5 4:55pm · Down in the dumps again – challenges with adult children in Depression & Anxiety

I understand what you’re feeling as I’ve gone thru the same thing with my sons. I suffer from anxiety and depression from chronic pain, heart disease and lung disease. I finally came out and told my youngest son that it hurts me that he never asks how I’m doing. He’s gotten a little better but I think it’s the generation. My son is 34 my oldest son is 46. He’s only slightly better at asking. I’m lucky to have a daughter that talks to me almost every day and visits weekly. Start by telling your kids how you feel. Also try to find something to do that makes you happy. And you don’t always have to jump to help. I know that’s hard but they learn better sometimes by having to do things themselves. Hang in there!

Sat, Jan 5 4:39pm · Praying for help: Pinched nerve, got first facet shot in Spine Health

I am going for my second round of shots on Monday. The first set only gave a half hour pain relief. After this next round my doc wants to do an ablation. Has anyone had this done? Did it work?

Dec 22, 2018 · Holiday Feelings: Are They Merry or Stressful? in Just Want to Talk

I think it’s easy to get stressed over the holidays as we try to do too much. I’ve had a get together every Christmas Eve for 40 years but next year it will get scaled back. Just too much on me now.

I never tried the CBD oil but tried CBD cream on my knees for arthritis. I don’t think it worked for me but maybe the oil is different.
