I agree. If a patent is miserable and has insomnia why not help them. Not renewing the rx is mean. At least the doctor should have a tapering schedule to wean you off and start something new. Some antidepressants are sedating and used for insomnia so maybe that's what he/she is thinking. Anyhow, Id ask for a weaning off schedule. Lower dose/fewer pills than a switch.

I see. That makes total sense. But I don't see anything about early refills on the post.

Im sorry you are going through this. I can't believe a pharmacy wouldn't fill your rx. Why wouldn't your doctor give you 60 pills? The pharmacy has to fill it. Also, u can ask your doctor re Remeron, Trazadone, benzodiazepines, Seroquel, and other sedating meds. They can use a combo to help u out. Whatever is going on is unacceptable. I also have a bad insomnia and prior to my anxiety/depression I was a great sleeper too. My doctor is addressing my anxiety to help out with the insomnia. Maybe u should see a psychiatrist to figure this out. They have a whole bunch of meds to try out to solve your problem. Let us know how it goes.

What happened with Ambien? Why didn't it work for you? I heard it's stronger than Trazadone.

Hello, I have problems with anxiety/depression and pretty bad insomnia. Whay anti-anxiety meds combo r u on that helps you with sleep. I take Ambien CR 12.5 mg plus 1/2 of 5 mg if I wake up in the middle of the night. Lmk. Id love to reduce my Ambien use. Dr said anxiety/depression has to ease off first.

Really? I thought most of the new ones have insomnia as a side effect. I'd love an antidepressant that also treats insomnia. That would be wonderful!

This is great news that you can recover from insomnia and using sleeping meds. Im currently clinically depressed. Every day is a struggle. It's affecting my sleep and I have to take Ambien CR to sleep (4-5 hours). Mainly anxiety keeps me up. I wake up at 3 or 4 am every night on the sleeping meds. I wish I could do what you are doing. My sleep hygiene is great. Very little light, white noise, colder temp, etc. Would love to get off of the sleep meds. Were u ever on Ambien? Was it hard to get off? Did u get off while depressed or after? What sleeping meds have you tried? Lmk. Im really stresed out about it.
