If you don't mind me asking, what types of medications do they have you take now to manage the problem? I'm almost wondering if I should take some aspirin. I do live in the states. I know the tests are expensive, my insurance covers 80% of most things. Also, looking back, is there anything you or your doctor noticed when your symptoms were presenting that actually indicated something more serious?

Had you had cholesterol tests before the cardiac arrest? If so, were those normal? I am not in the medical field by far but I just don't understand how it all works. They say my cholesterol is normal/low but who knows if that means anything. My doctor thought the pains were from GERD, but I told her two days ago that the Omeprazole (prilosec) has not made the pains any better. She had me come in yesterday to get some blood work done but the results I have seen online are thus far normal. I am hoping she calls me soon. I was supposed to have a Tropopin test ran but I think the lab tech forgot, because it's still listed in my "to do" list on the online portal.

Thank you for your reply. I have a couple of follow up questions. Where were your chest pains located? Do they know what caused your blockage? Does heart disease run in your family? Also, did you have any other symptoms with your chest pains? Thank you so much.

A week ago, I woke up at night from chest pain. It was pretty intense and I thought it was heartburn. I took Tums, which always help, but they didn’t help. The next day I went to my doctor. She did an EKG and it was normal. She prescribed Omeprazole for GERD. Even after days of taking it, I do not feel better. My chest pain is constant. It’s minor but it moves around. For example, it is in the middle of my chest right now but has been on the left side and then the right side today as well. My cholesterol is normal, I am a 28 year old female, I am not overweight, and there is not history of heart issues in my family.

Sometimes I feel like my heart is fluttering. I’ve also been very tired and a bit dizzy. I am not sure if part of the cause of my symptoms is anxiety, but anxiety attacks don’t typically last for days on end. I have a hard time focusing on anything lately because of my symptoms. I feel shaky too.

Please help me. I am not sure what is going on and I feel like my doctor doesn’t think it’s a big deal.
