Hi Julie, do you mean PVC’s? I am not familiar with SCPC or SVPV. I have had SVT(Supra Ventricular Tachycardia) and PVC’s, as well as A-Fib and PAC’s but never heard of what you are referring to. Having said that, I have also had Pericardial effusion 2-3 x’s, depending on how much fluid is around the heart then it might not be anything to be concerned about, the body may absorb it, or it might remain there without causing you further problems. Yes, one does feel short of breath and pressure on chest especially when lying down, you probably have minimal fluid and that’s why they are not concerned. I would report any increased SOB (shortness of breath), increased pressure or pain and any other adverse symptom to md promptly if you don’t get any improvement.

I am 66 yrs old and have had PAC’s for the last 19 years. Have also had various serious heart issues, including ablation, but the PAC’s have always been considered totally benign and non related to my heart issues since they started years before my cardiac problems occurred. But yes, you can get PAC’s after ablations for non related issues. Here’s what’s helped me since I am also one of those that feeels every beat and used to get so freaked out in the beginning that my local ER got to know me even though I am a retired RN! Try not bending down from waist too much, avoid feeling overheated, avoid stress as much as you can, take Magesium 250 mgs/day – my cardiologist actually was the one who recommended this and it really made a huge difference, but check with your MD first, make sure that you’re maintaining your Potassium at a normal level by having a daily banana or coconut water, keep well hydrated but make sure you don’t overdo it since plain water can deplete your Sodium, Potassium and Magnesium, these are all vital for optimal,heart function. Stress, bending over from waist, and overheating are my triggers. Meditation, yoga, also help, I can’t emphasize need to keep stress managed, but Magnesium made an almost instant difference, been taking it along with a daily banana for over 10 years now. At times, if undergoing a lot of stress I can have every other beat be a PAC for a couple of hours, but this is now very rare, on a typical day maybe I will feel 5-10, which is fantastic. Most people have a few per day but they are not aware of them. Some people that just can’t take it have been put on a beta blocker by cardiologist, or Flecainide, but this is for extreme cases because both medicines can have serious side effects. Good luck.

Hi there, I was diagnosed almostt two years ago with MCI at the age of 64, a week later I had a heart attack from the stress that such news caused. I survived the heart attack, but have been left with anxiety issues. Now, I am a retired RN who worked many times in my career with Dementia patients. My father died at 78 from it and his side of family have strong dementia history. I’ll tell you from my side what helps me best even though I have a wonderful support systems comprised of my husband and two daughters. Patience, lots of patience, understand that when we say or do things many times we can’t control what we think or comes out of our mouths. I have lots of “cognitive reserve” so most people don’t realize that I have a problem when they see me for short time or meet me for the first time. However, my husband, has to deal with me everyday and can tell the difference. There are times when I don’t like myself for,what I say or how I act with him, I know I hurt his feelings; it is hard, wry hard, but rember that it is even harder for us. I was strong, type A personality, ran the household as long así we’ve been married,and now I rely on him for a lot. I am scared to death for not knowing what kind of person I am going’s to turn into. Whether this loving man that has been with me for 40+ years will stop loving or liking me. I have MCI, plus strong family history, plus I am positive for APOE4 and MTHFR so my deck is very negatively stacked for Dementia in the near future. Remember that MCI is not Dementia yet, and that about 30% of people afflicted don’t necessarily crossover to Dementia. I see a therapist and take antianxierty medication, no other meds since the available dementia meds don’t help. Also attend an early stage Alz and MCI support group once a month, read as much as possible about Dementia, do brain games, try to see friends once a week, although there are days when I don’t want to do anything or go anywhere, when I am very anxious and scared to even accompany my husband to the grocery store. My husband has a breakfast group once a week and he goes to gym 3 times a week. That helps him some. Social interaction and time out for you is as important as social interaction for your husband. I am very grateful for my husband, at this point I don’t need much “caring”, but I am very grateful to have him because the future is grim. Hang in there, love him, don’t take it personal when things happen, he is still there, but love yourself as well.
