Have you tried a functional doctor? I am going to call dr O on monday morning to get help with my gut issue. I attended the informational meeting last week at Vitality and I was skeptical but going from doctor to doctor agetting no where has cost me more than money. I’ve been getting progressively worse. But nothing can be found to cause my problems. Here is his mission statement:
“To educate, empower and create the opportunity to restore health for those who are ready for change."

Sep 20, 2018 · trigeminal neuralgia and Parkinson's diagnosis in Brain & Nervous System

@hopeful33250 Hi Teresa,

Yes, I have been to 3 neurologist this past year. The most recent being a movement disorder specialist. I Googled “Trigeminal Neuralgia and Parkinson's Disease” because I wanted to know if they are related in some way. At the top of the google list came “Parkinson’s disease: an inquiry into the etiology and treatment” https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22053261

I asked this question to my neurologist, Could it be helpful to investigate the link between Parkinson's Disease and Trigeminal Neuralgia?

The response was, That is an interesting observation you make but as a clinical neurologist, I do not do research. An academic institution might be a great place to pursue this (like University of Michigan).

My symptoms are Tremor and cogwheel rigidity on right side of body, Parkinson's. Trigeminal Neuralgia is a constant numb burning pain with intermittent shooting pains into mostly left side of face and eyes. I have a feeling like I am wearing a party hat with the elastic under my chin and going up the sides of my face. I also get crushing pain from muscle spasms in my head and neck. I've had vertigo several times a month. Head rushes happen when the barometric pressure changes coming with so much pain that I can't even lay my head down, I have to sleep sitting up. It would be nice the find a doctor that has experience in treating someone with these 2 conditions.

Elizabeth, I'm so glad that you are going to take what was prescribed you. I do believe it will help you, but you need to take it as prescribed and not just when you want. Take it even if you think you're getting better. Please do not self medicate. I've seen what my sister has done to herself in attempts to rid herself of bugs. She has used toxic horse cream and other harmful toxic agents that have left scars all over her body. She has even gone as far as convincing her PCP to prescribe a pesticide. Please do not go that route. If you are feeling no one will listen or help you please seek out a therapist or psychologist. This doesn't mean it is all in your head, but talking things out with a good therapist can help you grow and understand yourself and others. I believe you can heal from what is afflicting you weather it is Morgellons or not but it won't be an easy road. I would suggest that you start with the doctor that prescribed you the “psychotic-type” drug. Thank you for your compliments. I have found that reaching out to help others has helped me with my own health. I have been diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia and possible parkinson's. I still am hoping that I too can find some relief from my health conditions. wishing us peace from what ails us. Sharon

Elizabeth, my sister has been having the same problem you have. She got help from John Koo, M.D., a dermatologist who works with Murase at UCSF. She is going through menopause which is likely the cause of formication, the feeling of insects crawling across or underneath your skin. She has been help greatly by pimozide treatment. It has almost eliminated all of the formication. She has an occasional flair up, but for the most part she has been able to get relief. She was very reluctant to starting the treatment, but now knows that it has saved her life. I hope that you find a doctor willing to treat your formication and all it effects on your whole being including emotional and mental. Be open minded to who and what can and will help you and you will come through it and be able to live your life again. I wish you well in your journey to health. peace
