Many thanks Roy, I will increase it in stages.

Hello Teresa, thank you for this & well done for working the connection out! I had a look at the link & unsurprisingly it did not seem as close at hand as the journalist made out. Nonetheless it would be interesting to hear – as you say – from anyone who knows more.

Hello All, I had first symptoms 24mo ago & was diagnosed 18. Tremor in dominant arm has progressed, typing on my phone or making hand written notes is now tricky & I cannot always conceal my shake. But I am not aware of any other symptoms & am still working 1/2 time & enjoy vigorous tennis etc.
My regime is a) to treat the biome initially per (google) Colin Potter's advice & now evolved under a dietitian with, diet, supplements, no beer & limited wine (red only), b) Vit B1, 500mg x2 twice daily, (thank you Royprop & Dr C) & c) exercise vigorously 3x pw, stretch & balance work in addition 2x.
I take no drugs & my instinct is to avoid them as long as reasonable.
Two questions for all the experts on this group, please!
CBD seems well established as a pain reliever. But does it have a credible track record in other PD areas notably in arresting progression? If so – what variant? Thoughts?
I picked up the end of an item on the news saying (with excitement) that the Mayo was conducting Trials into diseases such as Alzheimers etc, but it also name checked PD, with a new drug that (sorry!) began with S. Anyone know more!?

Yes indeed, a shake & a little imbalance is one thing, pain, particularly excruciating, quite another. Pleased to hear that the (adjusted) Sinemet dose is so effective.

Maxine, yes so many thanks. We wish Walt and yourself all good luck and follow with interest. And Susan, I am a similar age, diagnosed 12 mo ago, symptoms a\re principally a shaky left arm, some twitches elsewhere, balance not quite what it was but still cycling & some tennis. I don't know if this is right but my instincts are to manage as far as I can without Levodopa etc. Principally to postpone the side effects but also perhaps if its efficacy is limited to 'a period', better for it to start later than sooner. Of course treatments may improve too.

Nov 1, 2018 · Parkinson's and Cannabis Oil in Parkinson's Disease

Hello, I was diagnosed c12 mo ago. Since then the tremor (in my arm) has gotten worse but remains manageable. My objective presently is to postpone drugs as long as sensible. To that end I exercise and take CoQ10, per my neurologists advice. Separately, having seen growing references to the biome being a key suspect as the source of PD, I am working on a gluten free, low carb and sugar etc diet. And I am trying heavy doses of vitamin B1.
I have come across papers commending Cannabis for cancers and thankyou nyparkie, I was most interested to learn of the NCBI study. Good to see the interest even if the conclusion seemed a bit weak. Also 2015 and so perhaps science has moved on? There seems to be a vast range of Cannabis products and it must be important to target the right one. I wonder if others have views on this? I am interested generally but especially in promising ones that are a) legal and b) available in the UK

Hello Teresa, thank you for this. Is there a mechanism for us to have a brief private message or phone call, please?

Hi we may be at the same stage, my good luck to you! I too work out, stretch and do balance exercise, just an evolution of what I have done for many years. Everyone thinks it all helps and it certainly makes me feel better about myself. What is 'Big hand exercise' please?
