Would like to hear results on your next calcium score. A lot like you, high calcium score, but on nuclear stress test, scored a METS score of 13,equivalent to a 26 year old and I am 75. I will look into K2 also and ask my Doc. I exercise every day for 75 minutes of aerobics and weights. Do not stop for entire time.
That score may be high for a 37 year old,but understand that not all is known about calcium scores. I am 75 and my score is 2500 and I have no symptoms. Had nuclear stress test and had Mets score of 13 which is equivalent performance of a 24 year old. Further test showed my three arteries to the heart were 90%,88% cand 88% open with good blood flow. Talk to your Dr. I would try to eat a dash diet, and if he says ok,hit the gym and exercise using aerobics and weights. I go 7 days a week for 80 minutes/ visit. Try not to worry and good luck.
Being a southern boy I have eaten a lot of fried foods and have a sweet tooth. Not sure how much a role foods plays but for nine months stopped eating sweets and fried foods. Been married to present wife for 25 years and she decided to have the test after my score and my score was 2500 and her score was 0. Go figure! Believe genetics play a role as both of my parents had some heart issues, but both lived into their nineties. Eating a lot more wild fish, avacadoes, fiber and vegetables. Big believer in exercise.
Hello chip. Wish my score was 510 instead of 2500. Iam 75 years old and have been on satins for 10 years. Hdl is 78,ldl is 72 and tri is 60. Had all test, necular stress test scored 13 Mets, which means I performed equal to a 24 year old. Even with this high score,my blood flow in the three main arteries is 91%,87% and 87%. My heart function is 68%, which is very good for a 75 year old man. My doctor says that my performance is credited to my active lifestyle. I go to gym everyday for about 90 minutes of strenuous exercise. I never stop for the entire time there, either doing aerobics or weights. I no longer eat red meat, fried foods so very few sweets. Doc says my arteries have expanded to keep blood flow pumping. I average 22,000 steps a day on my Fitbit, which is about 12 miles. Hope this helps,I feel exercise is key. Good luck.
Got my results back and was generally good news. No blockages with mild stenosis.Flow rates were good at .91,.87 and.87. They start to worry at .75. May put me on
Crestor rather than Zocor to try and get my ldl down to below 50. Took more blood test to measure sizes of LDL and HDL and to check a certain protein in blood. Said to keep exercising and eating plenty ol tuna and salmon. No fried food or red meat. An eat elk in moderation. Avoid sugar as it is toxic and a major player in CAD. Hear results from blood test in a week.
