I can’t tell you if you can vomit or not. I can tell you that I had all of my esophagus replaced and the doctor explained to my parents that I never would be able to vomit. I don’t know the exact reason all I know is I haven’t vomited in 48 yrs. I do get the dry heaves but that is about it.

Yeah they are all a bit different. I don’t get pain after eating anymore I did for the first 5 yrs or so. I do get indigestion and the feeling that I am over stuffed but only a couple times a month.

Yeah 47 yrs ago. I was told I was the 2nd person in the U.S. to have it done.it was started in around 1917 in Europe.wait loss was not a problem for me. They did have concerns I would grow because of lack of nutrients. I am 6th 195 lbs. The diarrhea is still an issue but I am used to it now. There is diarrhea because the colon extracts fluid from the stool. Sence in a CI the colon is moved it can’t do one of its primary functions.

Your symptoms sound very familiar. I had the back pain when I was a child. This for the most part went away with time. I was very young when I had my CI. The diarrhea is always there but can be controlled with diet and watch when you eat. I found veggies and fruits make it worse. ( if you are a vegetarian your in trouble). The diarrhea is something that will always be with you. It is very inconvenient but the alternative is way worse. I am lucky in the fact I was so young when I had my CI done I don’t know any different.
