Aug 16, 2017 · Neuropathy and Blood Flow in Neuropathy

It is difficult & it changes who you are. I was an on the go person & I would push thru difficult things. I have to know now that it’s a different phase of my life. I do find when I do something, my pain is less, especially when it’s meaningful. I have led a group called Hopekeepers for years and, like this group, we know what we mean when we say we have pain. I do other volunteering too. But when I hit the wall (can’t do anything) I rest. The first 10 years were the hardest – not that the pain was worst but I had to figure it all out. You can’t help feeling like you don’t want to go on some days but I think it’s important to find something you can do & take baby steps.

Aug 1, 2017 · Not exactly sure what I have Some say Neuropathy in Neuropathy

I know those of us who have neuropathy have been saying a lot about the pain of the disease and the hopeless ness of having no cure but that’s the beauty of groups like this. Your friends & family don’t understand what we go through & everyone in the group is going more or less through the same. It helps to be able to say it to people who understand. By the way, I don’t know any way to prevent. I find I am so very thankful for those days or hours that aren’t as painful but that has taken quite a long time.
There are many meds etc talked about here & it’s a great resource.

I’m glad to hear someone else is bothered by barometric change. Several friends & I have noticed that our pain level increases & it seemed that was the factor.

They help with specific pain. I cut them to the size I want & put it over where my pain is.  I think they help.  I've even wrapped them around my toes. I rarely use them during the day because I don't want to over use & they don't always stay on.  When I first tried them, my doc supplied them because of the cost. They are generic now.

I have had ideopathic peripheral neuropathy almost 30 years. It affects both legs, calves down. I have tried just about everything I hear about but nothing has helped. I also have PKD & PLD but haven’t needed treatment for them. I take gabapentin, methadone, & amtriptylene for pain but have a lot of break thru pain. My toes are the worst. I am always looking for ways to help the pain. I use lidocaine patches when needed.
