Sat, Nov 2 4:56pm · multiple meningioma brain tumors in Brain Tumor

I went to Mayo and had a wonderful Dr Ruff . He told me that I didn't need the Gamma knife. He felt that it was not aggresive like they told me here. He explained this tumor was slow growing. I will have a MRI every year to watch it. Complete opposite from what they told me. Go to Mayo and get a second opinion.

I have had radiation as a child when they didn't know how dangerous it was. I have had surgery for a golf ball size meningioma. They couldn't remove all of it because it was in a dangerous spot. Don't know when I developed another small one. Even tho I had a MRI every year no one ever mentioned another one. It is starting to grow and they recommended the Gamma Knife. I am going to see what Mayo in Rochester has to say. I would like them to do the procedure.I also had thyroid cancer 20 years ago. Worked in a hotel and had a group of researcher from all over the world who were studying meningioma and the connection of thyroid cancer and the tumors. I joined their study group and gave my DNA.

It is a muscle relaxer. My doctor explained to me it works with the brain to help you sleep and not wake up so often. If I don’t take it I wake up many times during the night. I only take it at bedtime.

Jan 7, 2018 · fibromyalgia pain in Chronic Pain

I have had fibro for at least 30 years. All I have taken is  flexerol at bed time. It helps me to sleep all night. I have had to take pain meds after some surgeries and they absolutely do not help fibro. There is nothing out there that helps it except you have to move. Laying around does not help it. They have proven that excerise is the only thing that helps. Water excerise is the best. Try it , you might feel better.

Aug 22, 2017 · Fibro diagnosis, lots of pain, scared I may have an ai issue too in Chronic Pain

My first diagnosis was 20 years ago for fibro. Since then I have been diagnosed many times. 20 years ago they didn’t have a clue on what to give you to help. Pain meds certainly don’t work with fibro. Then went to a rheumatologist who said that a low dose of flexeril would help at bedtime. Also to exercise in the pool. I have to say I am not pain free , but it has helped greatly. As much as you want to not move because it is painful, you must move your body or it gets worse. Sometimes I am in pain when I go to the pool, but I come out feeling so much better.

I do water aerobics in a pool 3 times a week. It takes the pressure off of my body and I am able to exercise much easier. I realized this is helping me to feel better.

I have fibro for over 30 years. I have found that over the years there is no pain medication that helps with the pain. Exercise for me is the only thing that helps. You must move or it gets worse. When you get a flare, rest for a while, then start moving your body. Even if it means just talking a walk. I have been diagnosed many times. My Rummatogist has given me a low dose of flexeril at bedtime. It makes me sleep thru the night ,not wake up 15 times. My fibro has improved immensely .
