Thu, Feb 27 2:00pm · Lichen Simplex Chronicus in Autoimmune Diseases

Update saw my Hematologist decided I was not allergic to Gammagard. So I received my IVIG infusion. The dermatologist gave me a steroid cream to use twice a day for one week. I had an appointment with my Rheumatologist yesterday and he said the biopsy results show thickened skin as a result of chronic itching and rubbing. Back to square one. Not sure why I had the itching. Haven't change medication and no new foods.

I haven't seen my Rheumatologist or Hematologist yet. I hope to see both of them this week. I have it on both arms. Some itching on my shoulders.

I Posted early in Jan about a rash on Gammagard. Internist sent me to Derm, my regular doctor wasn't available didn't think I needed a biopsy gave me an RX for cortisone cream, didn't help. Saw the Rheumatologist didn't know what was going on. He suggested a biopsy. Hematologist thinks it was Gammagard. He also suggested a biopsy. I went back to the Dermatologist and saw my regular doctor for a biopsy, came back as Lichen Simplex Chronicus and referred me back to Rheumatologist. Has anyone been diagnosed with Lichen Simplex Chronicus and what treatment did you receive?

I mentioned it to him. He looked up the side effects on his web information. It didn't mention anything about vision issues. Had a procedure at the eye doctor about the same time we changed to Gammaguard. Thought the eye procedure may have had something to do with vision change. Have an appoint to recheck my eyeglasses. I will also check my records to see when the IVIG meds changed and the date of the eye Laser treatment was.

Hi, I had checked RX list. It gives the most common side effects. I was wondering if any (gammaguard) IVIG patients experienced any other side effects.

I was receiving Gamunex and had few side effects. There is currently a shortage of Gamunex nation wide. The doctor had to switch me to Gammagard. Since taking Gammagard my vision has changed. It is very difficult for me to read. Seem to be using aids. Has anyone experienced a similar issue. I have read the common side effects. Doesn’t mention vision changes. Thank you in advance for you help.

I woke up a few weeks ago with rash, looked like hives. Blotches under the skin. Went to Internist, he sent me to Dermatologist, then saw the rheumatologist. Finally, I saw my Hematologist. Thinking I had a reaction to my IVIG med. I was on Gamunex for years. Due to the backorder for the med, they changed me to Gammaguard. I receive infusions every 3 weeks. Since starting Gammaguard I had to add a steroid along with other pre-meds. Still have itching. The last infusion was Dec 26.
