May 29, 2017 · Chronic Pain members - Welcome, please introduce yourself in Chronic Pain

Yes, I had the trial SCS stimulator done and it did not work for me but the trial is relatively simple and painless. I wish you the best of luck and any specifics I can answer.

May 21, 2017 · How do you deal with high levels of pain in Spine Health

I am looking for alternative therapies that have worked for folks that have tried alot of therapies for spine and bone pain or any other pain that has rendered them home or bed ridden. I am currently suffering from Fibromyalgia, degenerative spine from Osteoporosis, failed fusion and severe bone pain I already do opiods, physical therapy, see a mental health therapist, and have tried many alternative therapies. I am open to any suggestions. I have been looking for a pain group as well and so far have not found any. I have been inspired by many on here that continue to have a positive outlook in spite of their suffering. I wish everyone a pain free days ahead. I have also tried gabapentin, baclophen, cymbalta, lyrica, savella, flexeril, trazadone, visteril, anti depressents, medical marijuana, relpax and over the counters.
Thank you,
Kristine

I am so glad you found something that works. I have used this type of therapy and it has helped for the moment but the pain comes back right away. I hope you continue to feel good and it inspires me to continue to look for treatments that may help.

Hello Michele,
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and later learned that I had severe Osteoporosis which caused bone pain and a collapsing spine. The point I want to make is that sometimes doctors use that diagnoses when they don’t know what else is going on. I would suggest a good Internal Medicine Doctor since they have alot more schooling. Do not give up. Continue to read about your symptoms and see as many doctors as she needs to. The immediate thought that came to mind was some kind of allergy. I have heard mold can cause problems like you describe but it could be many things but tell her not to give up. I hope for her better days.

I am so sorry for your suffering. It sounds like you have been through alot. I have learned over the years that there are good doctors and not so good doctors. What does a doctor get when he graduates at the bottom of his class? He gets to become a doctor! I will pray for you and hope you are not suffering. I was wondering what a HE episode is as well.
Best wishes for good days.

May 20, 2017 · Has anybody had an implantable neurostimulator for chronic pain? in Spine Health

I trialed a scs device which is an electrical stimulator and it did not yield results for me but from what I understand it can help some and it is an excellent way to get pain relief without drugs. I am going to have the medtronic pain pump installed and hope that it will relieve my thoracic pain from a failed fusion and severe osteoporosis. I wish you the best and hope this can work for you. The trial is relatively painless. I had leads put into my spine and had to carry around a small device and spoke to someone regularly on the current levels.

I am sorry for your suffering. I didn’t know that nerves grow back that is interesting. I have a body corsett or cast that chinches me in all the way up to my armpits. I was going to have another fusion since the initial one failed to fuse. Maybe wearing it could help. I had the cast made but then saw another surgeon who strongly suggested not to do it and live with the pain since thoracic surgery is so dangerous. Living with this has proved to be very challenging and disheartening at times but I like your attitude and wish for you, good days ahead.
Sincerely,
Kristine

May 16, 2017 · Do any group members have Intractable Pain IP and/or anyone have a Medtronic pain pump in Chronic Pain

I am so glad you were able to take such an amazing trip. I dream of being able to do such things. Positive thoughts help more than negative but sometimes our bodies demand attention. I love the outdoors and hope you get to have a good summer. I planted flowers the other day and had some hummingbirds come to my feeder finally. Hummingbirds inspire me. They are so small but so determined to gaurd their syrup source that they will dive bomb any size bird. They are fearless and I can learn from that. Thank you for sharing:)
