May 31, 2017 · False positive on EKG in Heart & Blood Health

Thanks for all your responses. I just got a full clean work up in March (stress echo, holtier) that’s why this troubles me so. I thought I was out of the woods and I just want this to be over.

May 31, 2017 · False positive on EKG in Heart & Blood Health

I have gone to my doctor but he hasn’t responded yet. I called the ER and they said if they thought it was. Important they would have said something to me but there is 99 percent probababiltiy that I don’t even remember me and are just covering their butts.

May 30, 2017 · False positive on EKG in Heart & Blood Health

I went to the er yesterday with chest pain I believe my hydrocodone use (prescribed) is causing. The ER doctor didn’t mention the results of the EKG whatsoever so I assumed it was nothing to worry about. However the results were released automatically and read thus:

Normal sinus rhythm
Biatrial enlargement
Abnormal ECG

Component Results
Component Your Value Standard Range
Systolic BP mmHg
Diastolic BP mmHg
Ventricular Rate 96 BPM BPM
Atrial Rate 96 BPM BPM
P-R Interval 120 ms ms
QRS DURATION 90 ms ms
Q-T Interval 334 ms ms
QTC Calculation 421 ms ms
Calculated P Axis 81 degrees degrees
Calculated R Axis 67 degrees degrees
Calculated T Axis 74 degrees degrees

From what I read this means the top of my heart is enlarged. I am now very frightened even though the doctor said nothing to me. I wouldn’t know unless I went digging. Is there a chance the reading is incorrect? Like a false positive?

Mar 21, 2017 · Feeling Skipped Beats, Palpitations: What could this possibly be? in Heart Rhythm Conditions

Your 24-hour Holter monitor was completely normal. There was sinus rhythm throughout occasional sinus or normal tachycardia(fast heart rate). No abnormal rhythm or conduction defects

Good afternoon,

Your holter monitor and and stress tests were normal.
There is no evidence of heart disease to explain your symptoms
Please follow up with Dr. Moraitis.

HOLTER MONITOR REPORT

ORDERING PHYSICIAN: Dr. Thippeswamy Murthy
READING PHYSICIAN: Dr. Dr. Thippeswamy Murthy
INDICATIONS: Palpitations

FINDINGS:
The patient’s rhythm was predominantly sinus rhythm
Heart rate varied from 52 bpm to 135 bpm. The patient’s average heart rate was 81 bpm.
The patient had a holter monitor tracing done for 24 hours.
The patient had 15 (0.0%) ventricular ectopic activity.
The patient had 5 (0.0%) supraventricular ectopy.
The longest R/R interval was 1.5 seconds.
No symptoms were reported by the patient.

CONCLUSION:
1. Sinus rhythm throughout
2. Rare ectopy
3. No sustained arrhythmias
4. No conduction defects
5. Patient events correlated with sinus tachycardia

There’s nothing wrong with me

HOLTER MONITOR REPORT

ORDERING PHYSICIAN: Dr. Thippeswamy Murthy

READING PHYSICIAN: Dr. David Tian

INDICATIONS: Palpitations

FINDINGS:
The patient’s rhythm was predominantly sinus rhythm
Heart rate varied from 45 bpm to 136 bpm. The patient’s average heart rate was 79 bpm.
The patient had a holter monitor tracing done for 24 hours.
The patient had 2 (0.0%) ventricular ectopic activity.
The patient had 2 (0.0%) supraventricular ectopy.
The longest R/R interval was 1.4 seconds.

CONCLUSION:
Baseline rhythm is sinus rhythm with an average HR 79 bpm (range 45-136 bpm).
Rare PVCs and PACs.
No significant arrhythmias.
Symptoms of “fluttering” and dizziness were recorded. These symptoms were associated with normal sinus rhythm and sinus tachycardia.

This is my first holtier monitor. I had a second holtier monitor done because I didn’t experience any PVCs during the test. I did this time and am waiting on the readings.

Mar 1, 2017 · Heart transplant: recovering but steroids are affecting behavior in Transplants

You’re quite welcome 🙂 here’s to his speedy recovery!

Mar 1, 2017 · Heart transplant: recovering but steroids are affecting behavior in Transplants

My father was put on a steroid regimen after his heart transplant and there were several changes to his mood even up to 3 months after cessation. It is perfectly normal but feel free to ask the physician. The only thing I would look out for is OVER agression like something resembling psychosis which is really rare but not unheard of.

Feb 28, 2017 · Steroid Shots and Their Effects on the Heart in Heart & Blood Health

I was given another steroid shot for an exertion headache caused by a stress test. Do steroid shots cause racing heart and muscle soreness generally? My hr laying down is 105 and my bones and muscles are aching in my left arm off and on. I had this shot 11 am this morning and it’s been progressing steadily like this.
